This new six-part documentary series — which airs three back-toback episodes tonight, followed by the remaining three parts next Friday — chronicles the struggle for LGBTQ rights from the 1950s up through the early 2000s. Each episode is helmed by a noteworthy director from the LGBTQ community and explores heroic and heartwarming personal stories. The premiere, “1950s: People Had Parties,” looks at the vibrant lives lived by queer people in the ’50s amidst a sharp rise in governmental regulations — led by Sen. Joseph McCarthy — against the LGBTQ community.

8 p.m. KWBQ-19 DYNASTY

On her wedding day with Liam (Adam Huber), Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies) is caught off guard when Blake (Grant Show) sits her down for a father-daughter talk that is quite different from what she was expecting in the new episode “Vows Are Still Sacred.” Elsewhere, Blake is forced to turn to Cristal (Daniella Alonso) for help after hostile forces seem to be conspiring against him. Things appear to be swinging to Alexis’ (Elaine Hendrix) advantage, but Dominique (Michael Michele) still has another card to play. Sam Underwood also stars.

8 p.m. KRQE-13 BLUE BLOODS

In the two-hour Season 11 finale, “The End; Justifies the Means,” Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) discovers his nephew Joe Hill (recurring guest star Will Hochman) is at risk of getting his cover blown on an undercover assignment inside a gunrunning operation, so the Reagan family bands together to ensure Joe isn’t killed in the line of duty as his father was. Annabella Sciorra and Gloria Reuben guest star; CBS has renewed this police drama for a 12th season.
