Addition to “New kid on the (contemporary) block,” September 22, Pasatiempo: At a 2005 meeting of thengovernor Bill Richardson’s cabinet, the General Services Department reported that the former state archives building (Vladem Contemporary site) was empty and available. Stuart Ashman, then-secretary of the Cultural Affairs Department, asked for the building, noting it might be a viable site for a contemporary art museum. The last sentence of “The changing landscape” in the same issue was inadvertently cut off. It should have read: “For the average individual, if they want to see what the cultural landscape looks like,” Mark A. White says, “the Vladem Contemporary can be one possible solution to getting a sense of the culture diversity, the richness of this place.”
