PERFORMANCE SANTA FE

Performance Santa Fe’s diverse offerings begin with a solo concert from Thomas Dunford on the archlute, a little-known relative of today’s guitar with a sound reminiscent of Renaissance-era minstrel music. The concert takes place on Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the New Mexico Museum of Art. The group gets in the festive spirit with the Boston Camerata’s presentation of Hodie Christus Natus Est. The distinguished voice ensemble offers polyphonic Christmas tidings on Dec. 18 at 4 p.m. at Cristo Rey Church. The Aaron Diehl Trio, partnering with Warren Wolf, kicks off the New Year with a performance of works from the Modern Jazz Quartet, a group with local connections: its founder, John Lewis, was born and raised in Albuquerque. The concert is held on Jan. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lensic Performing Arts Center. Also at the Lensic, on Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m., Performance Santa Fe presents the Mark Morris Dance Group performing Pepperland!, inspired by the 50th anniversary of The Beatles album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. On Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m., the organization welcomes mezzosoprano Susan Graham and Music from Copland House at the Lensic Performing Arts Center. The ensemble performs a monumental new piece exploring American history from 1968 to the present day from the the performance. performancesantafe.org
