FOR OUR RIGOR? Because we explore 3,000 years of the most world-changing texts, which span seven academic disciplines. We do this in four short years—or two years in our Graduate Institute—and in sequence. As a result, students leave St. John’s understanding how our modern world came to be. How democracy and capitalism were formed, and what was left behind. Where music, astronomy, algebra, and quantum mechanics came from, and how they are connected. How humanity has dealt with war, technology, plague, and political discord over the course of millennia—and how we might manage it more wisely moving forward.
