Silver City Blues Festival
— B.S.
If you head to the Silver City Blues Festival this weekend from Northern New Mexico, don’t pat yourself on the back too hard for completing a cross-state journey. Some of the bands came from much farther away. The 28th annual festival features several acts, including one each from Oklahoma City, New Orleans, and Memphis, Tennessee. While the entertainment is billed as blues, attendees also will hear hints of Zydeco, Americana, rock, and soul.
The festival, organized by the Mimbres Region Arts Council, includes vendors from the city’s Makers Market, beer gardens, and food and beverage sellers. Additional performances are planned Friday and Sunday at other locations.
