Cerrillos Hills State Park turns 14 years old this year — and it has picked up some friends along the way.

Amigos de Cerrillos Hills State Park will benefit as artists, visitors, and bakers converge at the state park visitor center for Art in the Park, which includes a bake sale fundraiser.

Amigos de Cerrillos Hills State Park states its mission as creating, enhancing, and caring for the open space in the Cerrillos Hills. The park opened in 2003 under the auspices of the county and was called Santa Fe County Cerrillos Hills Historic Park. It transferred to state ownership and picked up its current name in
