Phil Klay

Phil Klay is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and the author of Redeployment, which won the 2014 National Book Award for Fiction, and Missionaries, which was named one of the 10 Best Books of 2020 by The Wall Street Journal. His new book is a provocative collection of essays entitled Uncertain Ground: Citizenship in the Age of Endless, Invisible War. His writing has also appeared in The NewYork Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic and elsewhere. He teaches fiction at Fairfield University, in Connecticut, and is a boardmember of Arts in the Armed Forces.
