Dev Patel, 31, and Alicia Vikander, 32, get into the fantasy legend of King Arthur in The Green Knight (in theaters July 30). Patel stars as Arthur’s reckless nephew Sir Gawain, who embarks on a quest to prove his worthiness by confronting a gigantic emerald-skinned Medieval stranger.

Tomb Raider’s Vikander plays the dual role of Essel, Gawain’s Camelot paramour, and the Lady, who tempts the headstrong swain on his journey.

“Gawain is entitled and drenched in privilege but becomes humbled by the smart women around him,” says Patel, whose other films include Slumdog Millionaire and The Personal History of David Copperfield.
